Residents in Abule Egba are currently calling for help as they woke up to ravaging fire that threatens to consume their belongings and buildings after a spark during a vandalization act on oil pipelines around 3:30 am on Wednesday, December 19th 2018 started a huge fire that has already affected residential and commercial buildings.
The vandals are reportedly responsible for the explosion which emanated from the pipelines, which extended to Abule Egba Bus Stop.
Some witnesses to the incident said cars, houses including shops were still destroyed in the fire.
Also, residents in the area have taken to social media to call for help from relevant authorities as the fire is said to be spreading wide.
However, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA’s) response unit in an early morning tweet on Wednesday, December 19, said the explosion occurred due to bunkering activities in the area.
According to LASEMA, the fire was triggered from the bunkering activities contact with an ignitable source.
