Disgraced Former Footballer Adam Johnson To ‘Leave Jail In Middle Of Night’ So As To Avoid Attacks From Vigilantes

Disgraced ex-England footballer Adam Johnson will reportedly leave prison this week after serving just half of his six-year jail term.

Reports claim the 12-time England player will be released in the middle of the night ‘under the cover of darkness to protect him from vigilantes’.

The 31-year-old will also have a car waiting outside Moorlands Prison in Doncaster, south Yorkshire, to drive him away, the Sun reported.

Inmates are usually released after 6am although ‘high-profile’ ones may able to leave before.

A source told the Sun:

‘Adam is terrified about coming out of prison. He’s worried about the backlash from nutters or vigilantes who might go for him. ‘He was an admired footballer but knows he is now leaving prison as a peadophile.

‘It’s because he is so scared officials made the decision about his release.’ The footballer was in 2016 sentenced to a six-year jail sentence for grooming and sexual activity with a 15-year-old.

Yet he is now set to be released on parole. It comes shortly after his ex-girlfriend Stacey Flounders told the paper that Johnson’s lies had destroyed their life

She also revealed how she had been pregnant with their second child but had to take the heartbreaking decision of having a termination when he was arrested. Ms Flounders went on to say how she and Johnson will tell their first child, four-year-old Ayla, about her father’s offences when she reaches 13.

She added: ‘She’ll have to make her own mind up about her father. ‘To be honest, I don’t see Adam as a paedophile. For me a paedophile is somebody who abuses tiny young children.’ She said he had, however, admitted to her that he was a sex addict.
