Chelsea has reportedly rejected a huge £50m bid from Barcelona for Willian.
Willian, who is currently at the World Cup with Brazil, scored six goals and registered eight assists in 36 Premier League appearances last season.
According to the Daily Mail, Barcelona is keen on seeing him link up with fellow countryman Philippe Coutinho in midfield following the departure of legendary midfielder Andres Iniesta.
The newspaper adds that Willian’s representatives have been in Barcelona as part of the bid, which is believed to be below the valuation set by Chelsea.
Chelsea has been braced for interest in Willian, with Manchester United reportedly also considering a summer move.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has never failed to hide his admiration for the player and is expected to try and lure him to Old Trafford.
The report claims that United could outbid Barcelona with a higher fee, but that leaves Chelsea with the prospect of selling yet another first-team player to a direct domestic rival.
