The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control now has 13 COVID-19 testing labs. The NCDC announced this Wednesday night.
Up till 30 March, the agency only had six labs in the country.
But in two weeks, it added seven more, earlier than the 3 week-deadline it set for itself.
The agency said the additional labs in various parts of the country will enable it scale up virus testing.
“As we increase the number of labs, we are working very hard with states to improve the sample collection and transportation process”, the agency said.
“Our goal is to ensure that everyone who meets the national case definition is tested, positive cases are isolated and managed to recovery”.
